On the radio in Roswell
Last week Jason Naumann and I were on three different radio shows in Roswell talking about our upcoming productions. On Tuesday we were on the show Roswell Round table on KBIM.
(Link: http://kbim-roswell.com/roundtable/roundtable_list.php?a=search&value=1&SearchFor=Coyote&SearchOption=Contains&SearchField=) and Wednesday were on Hot 97FM (site: http://www.kbcq.net/) and KFSX 100.7 (site: http://www.kbcq.net/). As we were scouting we visited most the radio stations in Roswell. Most of the DJs got a real kick out of the fact that our movie was about a radio station.

Casting for Coyote County Loser
Independent Feature Coyote County Loser Cast Info
Thanks to all who came to the August 16th casting call in Roswell, New Mexico. Those still interested in being cast should e-mail with a headshot and resume.
Cast of Characters
Jack Procter (mid thirties)
Jack is a confident, up-and-coming radio personality. He has a Cary Grant like charm and believes that love is about the “moments” and just “going for it”. While he isn’t a jerk, he feels that he is above certain things and Coyote County is one of them.
Lauren Hartford (late twenties, early thirties)
Lauren is smart, witty and very guarded. There are certain things that she will not risk, and love is among them. She tends to be somewhat cynical while maintaining an air of positive thinking. But beneath the surface there is warmth and a real desire to find love.
Mrs Hopps (mid sixties)
Mrs Hopps is a real spitfire and one very sharp tack. She sees whats really going on in people and isn’t afraid to call them out on it. She has that “mom” like quality that makes people trust her and feel drawn to her. There is no pretense with her.
Mr Hopps (mid-late sixties)
Mr Hopps is a quiet man, but when he speaks it is pearls of wisdom. He is what every man wants to become. While he is slow to speak, he certainly doesn’t hesitate to laugh and “gets it”.
Brian Johnson (late thirties)
Slightly aloof, Brian runs his station like it is the largest radio station in New York. But for however slow he may come across, he runs the station very well. He is always happy and gets excited over the smallest events. It would be near impossible to be around him and not be happy… even when he is frustrating the heck out of you.
Doyle (early twenties)
Doyle is the perfect combination of “nerd’ and “cool”. He is a bit shy, unless he is talking about what he knows best, which is technology. In any large population he would be considered an expert on electronics and computers, but in Coyote County he is the king. He has a crush on the intern that works at the station, Katie.
Katie (early twenties)
Katie is a “mini-Lauren” in the making. She is all business and really good at what she does, which is help keep the station afloat and do the news. While she admires Lauren, she has no real desire to end up cold and alone as her idol seems to be. And while Doyle is not what she would normally think she is looking for, there is something about him that she is drawn to.
Jose Sanchez (mid forties)
Sanchez is an expert on fixing anything. He is the local “Mr. Fix-it” and on his show he gets to show off what he knows. He has very little patience for those that don’t catch on quick to what he is telling them.
Red Bradford (Early fifties)
Red is retired military. He is convinced that there are aliens that have visited our planet, and they will be back.
Sweet Adobe House

This place was really cool. Possibly we can use it for the Hopps home.
The Producers

Producers Jacob Roebuck and Rob Bethke with Location Manager Bill Hartman. (Jason said not to let Jacob use the camera!)
The Sale Barn

During our scouting trip we loved the Sale Barn so much I think we are going to try to work it into a scene.
